Dot To Dot festival headline Sheeran, Darwin Deez, Dananananaykroyd and many more name have been confirmed to travel between Bristol, Nottingham and Manchester from May 28th – 30th.

Arctic Monkeys have explained that how they returned to the older masters such as David Bowie, Nick Cave and Lou Reed for inspiration when writing their fourth album ‘Suck It And See’.

Frontman Alex Turner said: “I wanted a good song foundation on this one, so that meant listening to Nick Cave, John Cale, Lou Reed, [David] Bowie, Leonard Cohen. And then as it went in and we put it through the mill of the band, other influences came into it, but I started with that to try and craft songs better.”

Drummer Matt Helders also was her opinion ‘Brick By Brick’ lead vocal on this is based on dialogue, saying: “It’s been good for me. I’ve enjoyed every comment that I’ve seen.”

Comment, when he called for his favorite read, he said: “‘You sing like a crow’. I don’t know if it were intended to be a compliment, but I took it as a compliment.”

JLS “glad” to nominate at the Shockwaves NME Awards 2011

JLS say they are “glad” about their nomination at the Shockwaves NME Awards 2011 for Worst Band.

Even including more bands are 30 Seconds To Mars, Jonas Brothers, Kings Of Leon and Tokio Hotel in the category.

Speaking to the Daily Record, bandmember Oritse Williams said: “I’m actually happy that we made it in. Whether it’s for a good thing or a bad thing, we’ve been recognised.”

Williams, however, says that although he appreciated the recognition that he thought his band outstanding charity work may be seen free from this category.

He added, “To be totally honest, I was disappointed that NME would even put us up for that award because we’ve brought something really significant to music. We also do a lot of charity work. So if NME think JLS are the worst band for all the good we’re trying to do, I’d have to question them.”

Shockwaves NME Awards ceremony take place at O2 Academy Brixton in London on Wednesday 23 February.
